Seniors

The following is a selection of  programs we offer for senior centers. If you have another type of program in mind, email info@bringthegymtome.com. We can most likely cater to your specific needs.
Zumba Gold 
Zumba Gold is a really fun option for active seniors who enjoy music and dancing. The dance moves are modified, lower impact versions of original Zumba choreographies. The class can be done both standing, seated in a chair or a mix of both, depending on the mobility level of the seniors. 

Yoga for Seniors 
There are numerous benefits to yoga for all segments of the population. Some of the particular benefits for seniors include: 
  • Improved balance
  • Increased strength
  • Anxiety reduction
  • Increased flexibility 
  • Weight bearing/good for bone density maintenance 
  • Improved mood/enhanced well-being. 

Tai Chi
Tai Chi is a gentle exercise class that is a great option for seniors. The instructor will lead the group through a series of postures and stretches that enhance circulation, balance, calmness and promote mind/body awareness. 

Mobility for Seniors
While there are many benefits to mobility training, perhaps the most important reason for seniors to practice mobility training is that it has been linked with fall prevention, one of the leading causes of both physical and mental decline in the senior population. This class will help aging adults become stronger and more agile, leading to an increased sense of control and grace in their bodies and daily movements. Each class, the instructor will guide participants in a series of exercises focusing on balance, weight bearing, flexibility and strength with a special focus on the major joints associated with mobility - namely the knees, hips, spine and shoulders. 

Dance
Dancing is a great way for seniors to stay mobile while also having a lot of fun and enjoying some great music in the process. Some options of styles of dance we offer include:
  • Line Dancing
  • Ballroom Dancing 
  • Dancing to the Oldies

*Please note, all of the above is only a selection of our offerings.  If there is a particular type of movement or fitness class you’d be interested in having at your center and don’t see it on the list, please reach out and ask us about it - there’s a good chance that we can accommodate!
